As predicted by MeT Department J&K, the Snowfall started in South Kashmir yesterday morning and also in the central districts. In the afternoon, snowfall began in the northern districts as well. Over the past 12 to 14 hours, there has been continuous snowfall.
In the last 24 hours, Jammu plains have experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, while higher altitudes in the region recorded moderate to heavy snowfall. In South Kashmir, heavy to very heavy snowfall was observed, while the plains of central Kashmir recorded a moderate snow spell. The plains of North Kashmir have received light to moderate snowfall.
Weather conditions have already improved in some parts of North Kashmir, with a general improvement expected in other parts by the afternoon. However, rain or snow showers may persist in some areas until late afternoon/evening
