Srinagar: The Local Meteorological Department (MeT) on Tuesday said that the sky in Kashmir is expected to remain clear, and there will be high chances of crescent sighting for the Shawwal month.
A MeT official said that the sky is expected to remain clear till 9 pm tonight, which significantly increasing the chances Eid-ul-fitr crescent sightings today.
MeT official said that after 9 pm, the sky is expected to be remain cloudy in Kashmir.
If the crescent is sighted today, marking 29 days of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated tomorrow on the first day of Shawwal month.
Moreover, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow in Saudi Arabia, Australia, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the Shawwal moon was not sighted in these countries last evening.
